Barack Obama Launches Slick New Campaign Website

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

For those of you who are familiar with the old Obama site that went up early last year you should check back in because some time around the Iowa caucus it seems they launched a website redesign. For those of you who were not familiar with the first site, check this post out to see screen shots of the nicely designed original and read about it’s deterioration over the year.

Barack Obama Campaign Website

On first impression I like the new site a lot! The new Obama website definitely has a certain “magical” feel about it. Maybe it has something to do with all that glowing white pixy dust flying around. The site is very clean and I especially like the use of space through out the entire page. Nothing seems cluttered. Notice the “Make a Difference” navigation on the right it’s very airy and easy to read and I can imagine it must have been tempting to cram as much nav in as possible.

On the flip side the site definitely seems designed for those with larger monitors and higher bandwidth. The site is very graphic heavy so those with slower connections might not enjoy as much. Regardless kudos to the design team responsible I heard it was an in-house group that worked on it.

At first glance, it has everything to do with the glow and the pixie dust. ;)

    Go Barack!

Hopefully that pixie dust can help him start winning some primaries too!

Barack Obama’s book, “The Audacity of Hope,” provides a appealing title. It has an idea of bravery mixed with full confidence. There is nothing Pollyanna concerning this. I will possibly not support every part he says, but he’s our president, as well as for me, he creates trust. Which will do more for any region than any amount of backroom deals. Hope gives us energy, and energy sustains us through trying times. Boy, we’ve had them. I’m from West Texas, and I did not vote for Bush. When McCain ran against Obama, I was a citizen of Arizona, but I gave audacious hope a chance. The fight for progress and laying the foundations of prosperity is not over. I’ve seen the quips of those who don’t believe Obama is able to do it. But step back a moment. Would anyone have all of us fail simply to tarnish the star of an incumbent for whom they did not vote? Trying to keep our priorities straight, let’s work together with our president and build our future.
